Texas Hold'em

Texas Hold'em

Texas Hold'em follows the rules rather simple. It is a game for two to 10 players, which aims to create the best possible hand of five cards using any combination between the two cards you were dealt face down and five community cards revealed on the table. Here are the basics you need to know:

  • . The Dealer. The cards are dealt from the position of the dealer. This position rotates in a clockwise around the table after each hand. In online poker, the software will automatically deal cards in place of the donor.
  • The Blinds. To start a game of Texas Hold'em, the player left of the dealer puts the small blind (which is usually half the minimum bet). The player to his left is the big blind (equal to the minimum bet). This money is the beginning of the pot and invite other players to place their bets. Players place their bets before the cards are revealed. That is why the term "blind" ("blind" in English) is used.
  • The Distribution. Each player receives two cards, he is the only one who knows.
  • Miser. After all Texas Hold'em players have received their two cards, a betting round begins with the player to the left of the one who posted the Big Blind. Based on previous bets in the hand, the player can fold, check, call, bet, bet, raise and re-raise the stakes and respecting the limits allowed at the table. A round of betting can make several rounds if there are raises and re-raises. The round ends when all players have either past or the last bet.
  • The Flop. Next comes the flop. Three cards are dealt face up in the common area of the table. Followed by another round of betting.
  • The Turning Point. The turn refers to a fourth community card dealt face up next to the flop. Follows a third round of betting.
  • The River. The last community card is called the river. It is placed face up next to the turn, and starts the final round of betting.
  • The Showdown. The Showdown occurs after betting concludes. The remaining players compare their five card hand created from a combination of their two cards and five community cards. The player with the highest hand wins the pot. In rare cases, two or more players have hands of equal rank, or the best possible hand consists of five community cards. In this case, they split the pot.
  • The next hand. After the pot is distributed, the Dealer button moves one player to the left (in the direction of clockwise around the table) and the players left the new donor put the blinds. The cards are then dealt and a new hand of Texas Hold'em begins.
